White Blue

Do blue jays become white in the winter?

On three separate occasions I have seen what looks like a white blue jay. Is this common or is this a freak occurrence.

No Blue Jays do not Color Change winter. What your seeing (and I would love to see a picture) could be a White (“leucistic”) Blue Jay or even an Albino. The difference is the leucistic bird is just a white bird and may have black markings or even a bit blue but an albino basically lacks color not just a white bird.( pink skin, pink feet, eyes etc.) They aren’t common but both color morph have been seen.
